Expressing one’s self. Exploring our identity. Celebrating our people. Connecting with each other.
While these may seem to be ambitious goals to achieve with a young population that has a declining interest, A.M.I. seeks to utilize a creative approach to awaken Jewish identity and embrace Jewish unity. We believe that engaging the next generation through arts and culture is the most promising – yet the most underutilized – means of fostering Jewish identity.
By utilizing the dual pronged approach of interactive and experiential programming, our benefits surpass other educational strategies. Our hands-on efforts by educators who are also musicians (or musicians who are also educators) enables us to create a different kind of relationship with the students, that generates mutual respect. With such a bond, we can convey messages and help the students reach into their hearts, minds and souls to discover a new person that wants to be a stronger part of the Jewish people.
