"Every time you come to teach us, when you close your eyes and start singing, we don't know where you are going, but we know that we want to come along with you"

Founded by Artists and Musicians for Israel (A.M.I.), Project Neshima offers creative educational workshops using music and art to help strengthen Jewish identity and promote unity among Israeli youth.

“Neshima” means “breath” in Hebrew, and is linguistically associated with “Neshama”, the Hebrew word for soul.  Focusing on breathing new life into Jewish identity, Neshima's staff members' warm, personal and pluralistic approach has succeeded in reaching out to thousands of Israeli students each year.

Sources record that music had always played an important role in Jewish life, serving as an essential catalyst to discover and connect with our souls, explore our unique identity and bring us together as a people.

AMI offers students a vehicle for self expression and challenges them to take an in depth look at their personal Jewish identity. As part of their teacher training program, AMI presents educators with new techniques which help them understand the importance of integrating the arts as a teaching tool to illuminate Jewish study content.
